Disclaimer - This game:

1. is a work of fiction;

2. contains elements of religious themes, and

3. has instances of flashing lights/patterns.

4. features BGM exclusively by the brilliant YouFulca (Twitter: @YouFulcaEng);

At the World's End takes place in the world of Orbeus, where legends speak of a Creator who moulded the world with the help of four primordial beings: Priv, representing the primal element earth; Agne, representing the primal element fire; Vryu, representing the primal element wind; and Api, representing the primal element water. After the Creator and the primordial beings completed the world, they then retreated back to their thrones at the World's End - a fortress situated on an ever-wandering flying island.

The events covered in this game takes place several hundred years later, where an unknown warrior finds himself waking up in the forests surrounding the World's End. Unlike traditional JRPGs, this game does not have an active plot. The game mainly focuses on completing objectives in order to get into the World's End. The plot takes a more passive role and is conveyed through item descriptions and observed implications. Therefore all you will have when starting the game is a journal which lists all the objectives you can set out to accomplish in order to reach the end of the journey.

Who is the unknown warrior you are playing as? How did he end up on the outskirts of the World’s End? Did he make his way there intentionally? What business does he have, seeking out the fabled home of the Creator and the Primordial Beings? There are many questions, but very little answers.

Gameplay features:

Bite-sized maps in a bite-sized game – At the World’s End is a short game (~1 hour) that’s designed with mystery and fun in mind. The maps are small and fit a 16:9 monitor perfectly while still having enough room to allow players to avoid pesky encounters.

Experimental intermarriage gameplay - traditional JRPG gameplay combined with the feel of mystery/exploratory games.

Silly enemies, turns are for players! Shieldbreak battle system with emphasis on pressing the advantage – break all enemies and completely dominate the flow of battle.

Learn the ABCs of combat - different weapons have different attack states (A, B, or C). Attacking an enemy in sequence (A -> B -> C) will allow you to deal 20/50/100% bonus DMG respectively for up to 2 turns (more info in the in-game battle manual). Simple to understand, difficult to line up.

Punbelievable enemies (Wait, don't leave! Sniff..). Do you like puns? What? No? But tha- of course you do! Encounter a mix of original and RTP edited enemies whose designs are all based on (bad) puns.

On a side note:

This is my first ever RPGMaker game release, and I hope you are patient with my inexperience. I hope to learn from this invaluable experience. Please do leave a comment on here or in the game's discussion forum to let me know what you think (all feedback welcomed: bad or good). As the developer, I've play tested this game so many times now that it has become rather difficult for me to self-assess as much as I'd like to. So I'd really appreciate it if you took the time to let me know what you felt worked and what you felt missed the mark =)

And do let me know if you encounter any bugs. For all intents and purposes, this is a completed game, but I will still be working on it to remove any major bugs so that it can be fully experienced from start to finish.

What's in the download archive(AtWorldsEnd.7z):
